| 17:17また妻を多く持って心を、迷わしてはならない。また自分のために金銀を多くたくわえてはならない。 | | 17:17 Neither shall he multiply wives to himself, that his heart not turn away: neither shall he greatly multiply to himself silver and gold. |

| 18:11呪文を唱える者、口寄せ、かんなぎ、死人に問うことをする者があってはならない。 | | 18:11 or a charmer, or a consulter with a familiar spirit, or a wizard, or a necromancer. |
| 18:12主はすべてこれらの事をする者を憎まれるからである。そしてこれらの憎むべき事のゆえにあなたの神、主は彼らをあなたの前から追い払われるのである。 | | 18:12 For whoever does these things is an abomination to Yahweh: and because of these abominations Yahweh your God does drive them out from before you. |
| 18:13あなたの神、主の前にあなたは全き者でなければならない。 | | 18:13 You shall be perfect with Yahweh your God. |
| 18:14あなたが追い払うかの国々の民は卜者、占いをする者に聞き従うからである。しかし、あなたには、あなたの神、主はそうする事を許されない。 | | 18:14 For these nations, that you shall dispossess, listen to those who practice sorcery, and to diviners; but as for you, Yahweh your God has not allowed you so to do. |
| 18:15あなたの神、主はあなたのうちから、あなたの同胞のうちから、わたしのようなひとりの預言者をあなたのために起されるであろう。あなたがたは彼に聞き従わなければならない。 | | 18:15 Yahweh your God will raise up to you a prophet from the midst of you, of your brothers, like me. You shall listen to him. |

| 19:1あなたの神、主が国々の民を滅ぼしつくして、あなたの神、主がその地を賜わり、あなたがそれを獲て、その町々と、その家々に住むようになる時は、 | | 19:1 When Yahweh your God shall cut off the nations, whose land Yahweh your God gives you, and you succeed them, and dwell in their cities, and in their houses; |
| 19:2あなたの神、主が与えて獲させられる地のうちに、三つの町をあなたのために指定しなければならない。 | | 19:2 you shall set apart three cities for you in the midst of your land, which Yahweh your God gives you to possess it. |
| 19:3そしてそこに行く道を備え、またあなたの神、主があなたに継がせられる地の領域を三区に分け、すべて人を殺した者をそこにのがれさせなければならない。 | | 19:3 You shall prepare you the way, and divide the borders of your land, which Yahweh your God causes you to inherit, into three parts, that every manslayer may flee there. |
| 19:4人を殺した者がそこにのがれて、命を全うすべき場合は次のとおりである。すなわち以前から憎むこともないのに、知らないでその隣人を殺した場合、 | | 19:4 This is the case of the manslayer, that shall flee there and live: whoever kills his neighbor unawares, and didn’t hate him in time past; |
| 19:5たとえば人が木を切ろうとして、隣人と一緒に林に入り、手におのを取って、木を切り倒そうと撃ちおろすとき、その頭が柄から抜け、隣人にあたって、死なせたような場合がそれである。そういう人はこれらの町の一つにのがれて、命を全うすることができる。 | | 19:5 as when a man goes into the forest with his neighbor to chop wood, and his hand fetches a stroke with the axe to cut down the tree, and the head slips from the handle, and lights on his neighbor, so that he dies; he shall flee to one of these cities and live: |
| 19:6そうしなければ、復讐する者が怒って、その殺した者を追いかけ、道が長いために、ついに追いついて殺すであろう。しかし、その人は以前から彼を憎んでいた者でないから、殺される理由はない。 | | 19:6 lest the avenger of blood pursue the manslayer, while his heart is hot, and overtake him, because the way is long, and strike him mortally; whereas he was not worthy of death, inasmuch as he didn’t hate him in time past. |

| 19:9わたしが、きょう、命じるこのすべての戒めを守って、それをおこない、あなたの神、主を愛して、常にその道に歩む時 あなたはこれら三つの町のほかに、また三つの町をあなたのために増し加えなければならない。 | | 19:9 if you keep all this commandment to do it, which I command you this day, to love Yahweh your God, and to walk ever in his ways; then you shall add three cities more for yourselves, besides these three: |
| 19:10これはあなたの神、主が与えて嗣業とされる地のうちで、罪のない者の血が流されないようにするためである。そうしなければ、その血を流したとがは、あなたに帰するであろう。 | | 19:10 that innocent blood not be shed in the midst of your land, which Yahweh your God gives you for an inheritance, and so blood be on you. |
| 19:11しかし、もし人が隣人を憎んでそれをつけねらい、立ちかかってその人を撃ち殺し、そしてこれらの町の一つにのがれるならば、 | | 19:11 But if any man hates his neighbor, and lies in wait for him, and rises up against him, and strikes him mortally so that he dies, and he flees into one of these cities; |
| 19:12その町の長老たちは人をつかわして彼をそこから引いてこさせ、復讐する者にわたして殺させなければならない。 | | 19:12 then the elders of his city shall send and bring him there, and deliver him into the hand of the avenger of blood, that he may die. |
| 19:13彼をあわれんではならない。罪のない者の血を流したとがを、イスラエルから除かなければならない。そうすればあなたにさいわいがあるであろう。 | | 19:13 Your eye shall not pity him, but you shall put away the innocent blood from Israel, that it may go well with you. |
| 19:14あなたの神、主が与えて獲させられる地で、あなたが継ぐ嗣業において、先祖の定めたあなたの隣人の土地の境を移してはならない。 | | 19:14 You shall not remove your neighbor’s landmark, which they of old time have set, in your inheritance which you shall inherit, in the land that Yahweh your God gives you to possess it. |
| 19:15どんな不正であれ、どんなとがであれ、すべて人の犯す罪は、ただひとりの証人によって定めてはならない。ふたりの証人の証言により、または三人の証人の証言によって、その事を定めなければならない。 | | 19:15 One witness shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin, in any sin that he sins: at the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall a matter be established. |
| 19:16もし悪意のある証人が起って、人に対して悪い証言をすることがあれば、 | | 19:16 If an unrighteous witness rise up against any man to testify against him of wrongdoing, |
| 19:17その相争うふたりの者は主の前に行って、その時の祭司と裁判人の前に立たなければならない。 | | 19:17 then both the men, between whom the controversy is, shall stand before Yahweh, before the priests and the judges who shall be in those days; |
| 19:18その時、裁判人は詳細にそれを調べなければならない。そしてその証人がもし偽りの証人であって、兄弟にむかって偽りの証言をした者であるならば、 | | 19:18 and the judges shall make diligent inquisition: and, behold, if the witness is a false witness, and has testified falsely against his brother; |

Let him go and return to his house, lest he die in the battle, and another man dedicate it. |

| 20:9つかさたちがこのように民に告げ終ったならば、軍勢のかしらたちを立てて民を率いさせなければならない。 | | 20:9 It shall be, when the officers have made an end of speaking to the people, that they shall appoint captains of armies at the head of the people. |
| 20:10一つの町へ進んで行って、それを攻めようとする時は、まず穏やかに降服することを勧めなければならない。 | | 20:10 When you draw near to a city to fight against it, then proclaim peace to it. |
| 20:11もしその町が穏やかに降服しようと答えて、門を開くならば、そこにいるすべての民に、みつぎを納めさせ、あなたに仕えさせなければならない。 | | 20:11 It shall be, if it makes you answer of peace, and opens to you, then it shall be, that all the people who are found therein shall become tributary to you, and shall serve you. |
| 20:12もし穏やかに降服せず、戦おうとするならば、あなたはそれを攻めなければならない。 | | 20:12 If it will make no peace with you, but will make war against you, then you shall besiege it: |
| 20:13そしてあなたの神、主がそれをあなたの手にわたされる時、つるぎをもってそのうちの男をみな撃ち殺さなければならない。 | | 20:13 and when Yahweh your God delivers it into your hand, you shall strike every male of it with the edge of the sword: |
| 20:14ただし女、子供、家畜およびすべて町のうちにあるもの、すなわちぶんどり物は皆、戦利品として取ることができる。また敵からぶんどった物はあなたの神、主が賜わったものだから、あなたはそれを用いることができる。 | | 20:14 but the women, and the little ones, and the livestock, and all that is in the city, even all its spoil, you shall take for a prey to yourself; and you shall eat the spoil of your enemies, which Yahweh your God has given you. |
| 20:15遠く離れている町々、すなわちこれらの国々に属さない町々には、すべてこのようにしなければならない。 | | 20:15 Thus you shall do to all the cities which are very far off from you, which are not of the cities of these nations. |

| 20:19長く町を攻め囲んで、それを取ろうとする時でも、おのをふるって、そこの木を切り枯らしてはならない。それはあなたの食となるものだから、切り倒してはならない。あなたは田野の木までも、人のように攻めなければならないであろうか。 | | 20:19 When you shall besiege a city a long time, in making war against it to take it, you shall not destroy its trees by wielding an axe against them; for you may eat of them, and you shall not cut them down; for is the tree of the field man, that it should be besieged of you? |

| 21:2長老たちと、さばきびとたちが出てきて、その殺された者のある所から、周囲の町々までの距離をはからなければならない。 | | 21:2 then your elders and your judges shall come forth, and they shall measure to the cities which are around him who is slain: |
| 21:3そしてその殺された者のある所に最も近い町の長老たちは、まだ使わない、まだくびきを負わせて引いたことのない若い雌牛をとり、 | | 21:3 and it shall be, that the city which is nearest to the slain man, even the elders of that city shall take a heifer of the herd, which hasn’t been worked with, and which has not drawn in the yoke; |
| 21:4その町の長老たちはその雌牛を、耕すことも、種まくこともしない、絶えず水の流れている谷へ引いていって、その谷で雌牛のくびを折らなければならない。 | | 21:4 and the elders of that city shall bring down the heifer to a valley with running water, which is neither plowed nor sown, and shall break the heifer’s neck there in the valley. |

| 23:2私生児は主の会衆に加わってはならない。その子孫は十代までも主の会衆に加わってはならない。 | | 23:2 A bastard shall not enter into the assembly of Yahweh; even to the tenth generation shall none of his enter into the assembly of Yahweh. |

| 23:21あなたの神、主に誓願をかける時、それを果すことを怠ってはならない。あなたの神、主は必ずそれをあなたに求められるからである。それを怠るときは罪を得るであろう。 | | 23:21 When you shall vow a vow to Yahweh your God, you shall not be slack to pay it: for Yahweh your God will surely require it of you; and it would be sin in you. |

| 25:5兄弟が一緒に住んでいて、そのうちのひとりが死んで子のない時は、その死んだ者の妻は出て、他人にとついではならない。その夫の兄弟が彼女の所にはいり、めとって妻とし、夫の兄弟としての道を彼女につくさなければならない。 | | 25:5 If brothers dwell together, and one of them die, and have no son, the wife of the dead shall not be married outside to a stranger: her husband’s brother shall go in to her, and take her to him as wife, and perform the duty of a husband’s brother to her. |
| 25:6そしてその女が初めに産む男の子に、死んだ兄弟の名を継がせ、その名をイスラエルのうちに絶やさないようにしなければならない。 | | 25:6 It shall be, that the firstborn whom she bears shall succeed in the name of his brother who is dead, that his name not be blotted out of Israel. |

| 25:12その女の手を切り落さなければならない。あわれみをかけてはならない。 | | 25:12 then you shall cut off her hand, your eye shall have no pity. |
| 25:13あなたの袋に大小二種の重り石を入れておいてはならない。 | | 25:13 You shall not have in your bag diverse weights, a great and a small. |
| 25:14あなたの家に大小二種のますをおいてはならない。 | | 25:14 You shall not have in your house diverse measures, a great and a small. |
| 25:15不足のない正しい重り石を持ち、また不足のない正しいますを持たなければならない。そうすればあなたの神、主が賜わる地で、あなたは長く命を保つことができるであろう。 | | 25:15 You shall have a perfect and just weight. You shall have a perfect and just measure, that your days may be long in the land which Yahweh your God gives you. |
| 25:16すべてこのような不正をする者を、あなたの神、主が憎まれるからである。 | | 25:16 For all who do such things, all who do unrighteously, are an abomination to Yahweh your God. |
| 25:17あなたがエジプトから出てきた時、道でアマレクびとがあなたにしたことを記憶しなければならない。 | | 25:17 Remember what Amalek did to you by the way as you came forth out of Egypt; |

| 26:7われわれが先祖たちの神、主に叫んだので、主はわれわれの声を聞き、われわれの悩みと、骨折りと、しえたげとを顧み、 | | 26:7 and we cried to Yahweh, the God of our fathers, and Yahweh heard our voice, and saw our affliction, and our toil, and our oppression; |
| 26:8主は強い手と、伸べた腕と、大いなる恐るべき事と、しるしと、不思議とをもって、われわれをエジプトから導き出し、 | | 26:8 and Yahweh brought us forth out of Egypt with a mighty hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with great terror, and with signs, and with wonders; |
| 26:9われわれをこの所へ連れてきて、乳と蜜の流れるこの地をわれわれに賜わりました。 | | 26:9 and he has brought us into this place, and has given us this land, a land flowing with milk and honey. |

| 26:11あなたの神、主があなたとあなたの家とに賜わったすべての良い物をもって、レビびとおよびあなたのなかにいる寄留の他国人と共に喜び楽しまなければならない。 | | 26:11 You shall rejoice in all the good which Yahweh your God has given to you, and to your house, you, and the Levite, and the foreigner who is in the midst of you. |
| 26:12第三年すなわち十分の一を納める年に、あなたがすべての産物の十分の一を納め終って、それをレビびとと寄留の他国人と孤児と寡婦とに与え、町のうちで彼らに飽きるほど食べさせた時、 | | 26:12 When you have made an end of tithing all the tithe of your increase in the third year, which is the year of tithing, then you shall give it to the Levite, to the foreigner, to the fatherless, and to the widow, that they may eat within your gates, and be filled. |
